At John Leggott College, we provide our students with tailored support. Our fantastic staff provide excellent teaching, specialist support and opportunities to develop key skills. The study options are endless, and students can study any course combination from the extensive John Leggott curriculum of over 50 courses. Exciting enrichment and work experience opportunities complement our core study programme. For example, A*spire, Pre-Teaching Award, Pre-Med Programme, Police Cadets are some activities that support our students’ progression pathways.

JLC holds a solid regional reputation for being one of the best sixth form providers for A-Level and BTEC results. Our staff are experts in their field, with many bringing industry experience into the classroom. High pass rates mean that around 69 per cent of our learners can progress onto the country’s best universities (inc. Oxbridge and Russell Group) or employers. For those students looking to progress abroad, we support applications to globally recognised universities such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Stanford.

The college has a vibrant mix of students from local, regional and international schools and this diverse mix creates an exciting atmosphere. We have an extensive pastoral support team of progress tutors to support students through tutorials, health, wellbeing and pastoral issues. Our team is committed to equipping our students with the tools to grow professionally, personally and academically. So much so that at JLC, we’re proud to be an inclusive college, a family that will be with people forever.

My teachers have all inspired me, provided me with confidence, and helped me realise my academic potential. I am also very grateful for all the support I have received from my family. I always knew I wanted to join John Leggott College, especially for the A Level Economics programme but the college is so much more than that, the A*spire programme is fantastic and the independence we receive whilst belonging to a community. JLC has also been so responsive over the last year, right from the beginning of the pandemic. They have reflected and adapted quickly to virtual teaching and have been ahead of the game, if not on par with private schools with extensive resources available. Learning virtually is not what I envisioned when joining the college, but it has also taught me to be more independent – a useful skill for university.
